Count Your Values

Did you know that creating the life you want begins with valuing yourself? So many of us have countless obligations and responsibilities. Rightfully so, wouldn't you say? Considering that we are living out our full adult lives. But what if I told you that many of us are living lives that are not aligned to our values or goals. Values are those things we hold as important or true. Values answers the questions such as:

  • What is important to you in your life?

  • What is your life purpose?

  • What do you enjoy doing?

  • When do you feel satisfied and fulfilled?

Values are our heart's deepest desires for the way we want to interact with the world, other people, and ourselves. Dr. Gillian Butler and Dr. Tony Hope have said that if you do not value yourself independently of your achievements, you will not value your achievements. The world goes around us so fast to where we can lose sense of self or importance we have. Valuing yourself is a form of respect and should not be seen as arrogance. No matter how many wrongs we have made in our lives, it does not take away the core beliefs or values we have. We only need to reflect and align ourselves to these values. So, count your values just as you count your blessings.
